Tulane University to Host Fourth Annual College Colors Day Classic
It’s Game Time! Show Your Green Wave Spirit on Friday, September 4

NEW ORLEANS, La., (August 28, 2009) – Tulane University will carry the College Colors Day torch into the national spotlight on the evening of Sept. 4 as it plays host to the fourth annual College Colors Day Classic football game against Tulsa. The College Colors Day Classic will be played at the Louisiana Superdome at 7 p.m. CT.

College Colors Day, which coincides with “back to school” and the kick-off of intercollegiate athletics, is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience by encouraging fans across America to wear their favorite college or university apparel throughout the day on Friday, Sept. 4.

Additionally, College Colors Day, in partnership with NCAA football, strives to advocate higher education through increased public awareness and celebrates the achievements of colleges and universities, acknowledging their fundamental importance.

“We are excited to bring the College Colors Day Classic to Tulane University and the city of New Orleans,” said Kit Walsh, CLC’s Senior Vice President of Marketing. “We hope this unique celebration makes a lasting impression on the entire Tulane fan base.”

“We encourage the New Orleans community to take part in College Colors Day on Sept. 4 and show support for the Green Wave by wearing their Tulane green and grey,” said Bob Toledo, Tulane University head football coach. “We are honored to be involved in an annual day dedicated to college spirit.”

Fresno State and the University of Nevada kicked off the inaugural College Colors Day Classic in 2006. In 2007, Syracuse University played host to the University of Washington, and Rice took on SMU in 2008.

The annual College Colors Day celebration is organized by The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division of IMG Worldwide.
